Here is a 5 step action plan to put us in charge of our personally identifiable data.
Step 1: Set aside time to work on your security action plan
Step 2: Audit your exposure to the online world – list all the accounts you have
Step 3: Secure the online accounts – use two-factor authentication, stronger passwords, adopt a VPN, secure your phone etc.
Step 4: Minimize the exposure – Delete unused accounts, limit what you are sharing
Step 5: Monitor – credit reports, data breaches you might be affected
